约翰说：“不要以强暴待人，也不要讹诈人，自己有钱粮就当知足”（路加福音3:14）
亲爱的弟兄姊妹们，当兵丁们问施洗约翰，按照上帝的教导，他们应当怎样做时，施洗约翰并没有建议他们改行，而是劝告他们要在现有的工作岗位上恪守本职，并且在他们的职权范围内要行公义和仁慈。
