Dear Students,

The Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has informed us that as of this year, it will no longer invite graduating international  students in the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) to apply for Singapore Permanent Residence (SPR) upon being employed.

The ICA has advised all international graduates to apply for the 1-year (non-renewable) Long Term Visit  Pass (LT-VP) prior to the expiry of the Student's  Pass to continue staying here and seeking employment after graduation. The details and application procedure can be found on http://www.ica.gov.sg/page.aspx?pageid=172&secid=171. Upon gaining employment here, the local employer will apply for a relevant work pass from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for the IHL graduate to commence work.

All foreigners who are gainfully employed on a valid work pass (P, Q or S pass) are welcome to put in an application for SPR after working here for a period of time. The application for SPR will be assessed under the Professional/Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme.

Foreigners who are keen to apply for SPR will be required to obtain an e-Appointment via https://eappointment.ica.gov.sg/ibook/index.do to submit their SPR application personally at the Permanent Resident Services Centre, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.  All applications forms must be duly completed and signed with all the necessary supporting documents.
