关于7天注销学生准证和申请EP的疑惑

各位大侠，有个事想咨询你一下，我已经申请EP，目前在等待审批，但是学校已经发邮件，说因为我已经拿到学位，所以要在7天之内注销学生签证。我的学生签是到8月底才到期。我想问一下，像这样的情况我一定要去ICA注销吗？还是等审批下来再去注销也可以呢？

学校邮件是这么说的：Note:  If you are graduating international students and still holding the Student’s Pass, please note that you need to cancel your Student’s Pass within 7 days from the date of this email.  Upon the cancellation of your Student’s Pass, you may request the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to issue you with a Short Term Visit Pass (if necessary) to stay in Singapore for up to 89 days.
