<P>Because of the rhythm of English, speakers of languages which do not have similar rhythmic system often have difficulty in understanding spoken English. The first thing you have to know about understandig spoken English is not trying to hear every word but only the keywords. In normal speech, only the keywords are stressed, that is clearly said or pronounced. Unstresses words are usually slurred over or pronounced weak.
