[讨论]请教各位关心并了解金融行业和金融硕士-SP/EP/就业准证交流-新加坡狮城论坛

工作7年了, 对目前的状况不是很满意, 想转行,不知道机会成本是不是太大了. 有没有哪位达人提供一下关于本地私立大学金融硕士课程的信息NUS, NTU都太难进了, 我的数学功底不太强, 本科是物流, 并且一直从事物流行业项目管理之类的, 一直对投资有很浓厚的兴趣. 但要重头来过, 从master为起点, 但不知道花这么多时间,精力和金钱,是否真的对以后的职业有所帮助, 有没有什么职业是可以把operation research和Finance可以很好的融合起来? Private banker? venture capitalist?  
 本地有哪些私立大学提供金融硕士课程,并且就业前景还不错的. 谢谢各位, 欢迎讨论

嗯，机会成本的确很大，因为隔行如隔山，转行意味着你在物流方面的很多经验和知识要在金融业归零。这个要慎重啊~
 
我不知道私立学校的信息，不过，如果NUS，NTU太难进的话，可以考虑SMU和SIM,他们也有提供相关的一些课程。
 
对投资干兴趣的意思是，楼主想要学习怎么样投资，还是说觉得这方面的工作对个人发展很好？我不过请不要有这样一个迷思就是在银行工作或者在金融业工作就一定知道如何投资。在这一行里面真正懂得如何为企业和巨富投资的是那些Investment Banker，懂得如何而他们往往很多是从Traders开始做起的；懂得如何为个人投资的是合格的个人理财师，现在新加坡这一群还在发展当中，往往很多人是从保险Agent，银行的客户关系经理，或者注册财务顾问做起。
 
Private Banker大多数是不懂得如何投资的，如果有和他们接触的话，你会发现他们是一群公共关系家，主要负责为各个银行的私人理财部门推销其看起来很复杂和高级的产品，管理那些私人客户，而非理财和金融方面的专家。VC的话，我不是特别清楚... ...
 
每个银行都是一部庞大的机器，里面什么样子的工作都有。银行里面分Front Office, Middle Office 和Back Office. Front Office主要应该是指那些Traders，Middle Office主要是为Front Office服务的部门，Product Control等等，Back Office是为Front和Middle Office服务的，比如IT部门等等。所有的投资银行做的东西都是以投资为中心开展的，所以，你可以说进去了也和投资沾边，不过是否就能通过这个懂得投资的精髓，那倒未必。

Thanks for MM's suggestion. Very clear and useful. Basically I want to go back to China, and tried to apply many companies and through head hunters, Local company does not want to hire someone from overseas and big MNC is too competitive to get in. Even if they would offer, the pay is not impressive. 
 
The derivative market in China is not ready yet, so I feel there will be a big potential market and demand for those who know how to invest. Understand the opportunity cost is very huge. however, If I dont do anything about, opportunity will fly away. Consider nowadays I can see 80 years old or even 90 years old people still actively working, I don't think it is too late to change career, I want to do this for my rest of life and after retirement. The most important thing is choose right thing first, else, I will waste money and time.
I would like to ask if a graduate from MFE and with CFA will gain a good stand for those who dont have financial background?

forest找的课程还比较清楚。还有个补充就是UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM在PSB ACADEMY也有提供MBA的GENERAL和FINANCIAL两个方向。我现在也是想去找个MBA来读，有是想FOCUS在金融方面。我的QQ：1885887 联系联系。。。

Thanks for youramigo's supplment, yeah I forgot this University. Now I had added this information into my post.
 
Compare the price and course duration, Nottingham is quite reasonable, but it takes about 2 years. I wanted to go to Baruch College as it is only one year, but too expensive, also wonder if it is recognised since too short. I am in a dilemma. welcome to discuss.
